Our Vision

That in the future, all children in need living near the village of Kikatiti will have the opportunity to attend school, and achieve their highest potential.

Education for a Bright Future-Tanzania is a recently created nonprofit that was formed in November of 2021 to continue the work originally developed through a partnership of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in New Ulm, Minnesota and the Meru Diocese of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Tanzania.

This partnership was first established in 1999 to help students at Kikatiti Secondary School, a very simple school attended by students coming from families in need near the village of Kikatiti, located about 25 miles (40 kilometers) east of the large city of Arusha in Tanzania.

A message from our director.

Since 1999, generous donors have enabled thousands of poor kids to attend school by helping to pay tuition, buy school supplies, provide critical food products and drinking water, and fund capital improvement projects to the simple school campus.

My involvement with the students at Kikatiti Secondary School spans a period of over 23 years, when I began directing this mission for Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in New Ulm, Minnesota. My position was totally voluntary then, and still is today. And to this day, this work remains my passion.

Kikatiti Secondary School students from all grades join together to express themselves through the joy of music. This homegrown, open choir performs in area churches and for members of the community at school. Enjoy this sample of their voices, from 2019.
